About Me

Katrina founded Stella Maris Wealth after over 15 years of combined experience working in corporate finance and financial services industry. Katrina started her career after graduate school in 2008, working for High Tech companies in Silicon Valley. In her various roles working in Corporate Finance, she was passionate in improving processes to drive efficiency; and one of her gifts she put into practice was turning raw data into meaningful metrics to help improve business units grow.

In the last 7 years, Katrina has found her life calling helping individual clients with their financial goals. Katrina is passionate in helping people not only ‘to get where they are today to where they want to go’ but to also help her clients navigate fears and maintain a healthy perspective when it comes to investing. She believes that investing takes faith, and her goal is for her clients to have ‘peace’ when it comes to money.

With her growth mindset and passion for continuous learning, Katrina has earned the ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), CEPA (Certified Exit Planning Advisor), and AAMS (Accredited Asset Management Specialist) professional designations.

Faith & family are two important pillars in Katrina’s life. Katrina had an opportunity to go to high school in Australia when she was 16 on a tennis scholarship, and from there, she was able to attain a full-ride tennis scholarship in college at University of Tennessee at Martin. Katrina graduated with  a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from UT Martin, and earned an MBA, with emphasis in Finance from California State University, Fullerton.

Katrina and her husband, JJ, have been married for 16 years. Her husband is currently the Head Men’s Tennis coach at Furman University. The couple has two sons, Trey (12) and Rhys (10). “My boys are my biggest inspiration and my reasons for everything! My hope for my children is to always put God first in the center of our lives, to have the courage to chase their dreams and to make a positive impact in this world.” Katrina says sincerely.

Katrina & her family are parishioners of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Taylors, SC. She’s also currently serving as a board member at ‘Christ on Main’, a Catholic resource center in the heart of downtown Greenville, SC. The motto of Christ on Main is to share the beauty, truth, and goodness of the faith. In her free time, Katrina finds joy watching her sons compete in baseball, basketball, football, and tennis. Her hobbies also include reading, cooking, gardening and biking outdoors. Katrina says “I tell my husband that for as long as our boys are happy and healthy, life is good.” That is gratitude (and the sacrificial love of a mom).

I used to believe that prayers changes things.
But now I know that prayer changes us, and we change things.
